fantasy commission by stoudaa fantasy commission by stoudaa
commission for the very awesome and patient (!)

I've really put a lot in this one and it's definitely the most challenging painting I've done so far. Not only because of it's size (original is 3500x5000)
but also because I'm not really used to paint 'gentle' and 'happy' pictures. :D

So i really hope i didn't screw up much and some of you guys will enjoy it.

...oh and sorry everyone for the watermark, i promised I'll include it

What an incredible showcase of your skills!!

This is a very "busy" piece--maybe too busy for my taste, but I'm sure the commissioner loved it! But it's a great one for a portfolio because it shows off just how much you can do with landscapes, animals, foreground characters, light and shadow, water and sky... there's so much to look at and every part of it is beautifully done.

I'm sure I can't afford to commission work this detailed or pro for the projects I'm working on--but if I could, you'd absolutely be the kind of artist I'd use! (Who knows, maybe the kickstarter will agree that I need some good illustrations). I'll recommend you if I know anything that comes up. Thank you for sharing this with us!

It really is peaceful. It still has a slight bit of creepy in it (just a hair).... Which is fine, kinda like an unofficial signature :d
Love it! Is there some back story to this work?

holy !!!!! C!!! This is amazing. The execution if more then phantasmal. At first glance I though it was an actual painting. This is more then wonderful!
So beautiful, so perfect... *__*
O.o I was compelled to fullview just to drink in all the details. This is an amazing painting! I love how the statue seems to be part fauness (is that a word? er, female faun) and part mermaid, and the fact that she's got a stone octopus to keep her company. The knight and his horse have fantastic armor... I feel like I could step into the picture and feel the wind blowing across the water, lean over the edge of the pool, pluck a flower from the underbrush. There should be a story here. I can feel it.
